Trade Shows: How to Make Them Pay Off

July 29th, 2010 posted by admin

Trade shows are quite interesting and informative and an important marketing tool for many businesses. People who display what their business has to offer at these shows through exhibition stands have a huge task on their hands and making them pay off is what matters.

Have a general plan

Because industry conferences and business meetings happen over the course of these shows, many people will be attending. Use them to connect with your present and potential customers. To achieve this goal your business will need to invest in the right things in order to stage a successful show. You need to start planning early; at least three months before the show. Decide what you want to achieve at the show and how you are going to accomplish it.

Do research on each show

You need to do some research to find out more about the show and its potential attendees. Jot down a list of delegates you would like to meet during the course of the show and also some of the events and activities you want to attend that may prove beneficial to your business. Also find out about any high profile persons who will be attend and any new products that might be debuting at the show.

Advance introductions

Instead of waiting around for the show date why not send a letter of introduction to those delegates and high profile persons you want to meet. Send them your marketing brochure or teaser about your product or service. This will help to bring interest in your business and get you more visitors to your show booth.

Other things to consider

Prepare yourself mentally and physically as each day as you will need to meet a lot of clients and target customers and maybe, strike some deals! If your goods are shipped too late, you need to be ready with a plan B. You also need to make the media aware about what is going to be exhibited and throw an open invitation to everyone and you will get noticed ultimately!
