How to Write a Persuasive Business Letter

One day as I was at my local truck dealer searching for an adblue using diesel truck with a friend of mine who was inquiring about how he could write a persuasive business letter. When we got to his home this is what I told him.
Letter writing is an art, especially in the context of business. A successful persuasive business letter can be likened to a masterpiece, since it must do a tremendous task (change minds) in as few words as possible. Following are some tips on how to write a persuasive business letter.
The first thing to do is to know who you are writing to. This sounds obvious, but knowing who your audience is, what their current position is, will help you in your task. You cannot persuade someone to do something if you don’t know them.
Another thing you should know is what your argument or main idea is. Know what outcome you want, or what you want to persuade your reader to do. If you don’t know this, it will show in the letter, and you will fail to persuade.
Another tip is to identify a problem that your reader may be grappling with, and use that as support for your argument. If you can provide a solution to this problem, emphasize that, as well as other benefits that will result if the reader does what you want them to do.
Include a course of action in your conclusion, basically the “next step” to be taken. Contact information and important response dates are important, so your reader knows how to proceed. <
